Nice to Meet You

Vicki Avatar

First of all, I’m a pretty easy going guy. I love balls, stuffed animals and Mom. And treats. I don’t have any cows but a dog can dream, right? For some reasons I have this yearning for cows deep in my soul.

I go pretty much everywhere with Mom. She can be hard to manage. I have to watch out for her but how am I supposed to do that if I get left at home? Or locked out of the bathroom?

This is a picture of me when I was still a baby dog. I loved my puppy. But then one day I started chewing on his tail and all this fuzzy stuff popped out. And then I discovered that I could use my teeth to pull the fuzzy stuff out. I just couldn’t stop pulling out that fluffy stuff. Once some got stuck between my teeth but I don’t like to talk about that. Anyway, I shredded my puppy. Once he was shredded I didn’t really like him anymore.

This is my co-dog, Woody. Obviously, we aren’t related but we share Mom and stay together. He was here first so he has something called seniority. I think that just means he’s old. Woody is really tough. He was a street dog when Mom got him in Newport, Oregon. His shelter name was Dino. He doesn’t like to talk about it. Woody taught me a very important aspect of my job duties. We are supposed to howl at sirens. I don’t know why, but we are and we do. A lot of things I just know I’m supposed to do but I wouldn’t have gotten that without Woody.

Woody is mostly blind. Sometimes I help him find his way and sometimes I help find him for Mom. I’d really like to play with him but Mom says that isn’t going to happen. Woody gets away with being grouchy. In fact, the grouchier he is the more he gets to sit on Mom’s lap. It’s OK. I would rather sit where I can watch Mom.

So, I guess that’s it for today. Mom says I’ll be doing this once or twice a week depending on how interesting life has been. Seems to me like every day is happy and probably going to have an adventure.

Oh, yes. Mom says you can leave me comments or ask me questions which I might answer in a post. I have to let you know that Mom has pretty strict rules about being nice. I have to be nice all the time.

Time for a walk or a nap. Later.

I hear that you get to travel a lot. Plus sometime I hear about your adventures like opening the door to Aunt Stacia’s garage so you, woody and all your relatives (4) could explore and possibly find something good. Or was it one of your relatives that knew how to open the door.

Hi Uncle Bud. Thanks for reading my blog. I’ll tell that story about opening doors because I think there are a lot of dogs out there who could benefit from learning that. I hope you will keep reading.

What a life! You have a lot of responsibility though. You need to take care of mom and Woody and keep them safe. It looks like Woody has earned his retirement, so now the job is yours. The good part is that you’ll see and do more than most other guardians, so the benefits are great. Do your job well, because there are many of us who love you all dearly.

Hi Mike. Woody explained who you are and I sure hope I get to meet you someday. Do people in the Philippines have pets? Woody says he used to see his girlfriend when you and Mom visited. I know you love dogs so I hope you have a friend there. Mom says you are snarky. I think she means that as a compliment.
